Our Treatment Room

Hospitalized patients are monitored and cared for by the veterinarians and nursing staff in this room.  Notice that all cages holding animals have a clipboard.  This is the patient’s treatment sheet.  While the patient is sick all medications, temperatures, pulse rate, respiration rate, urine output and bowel movements are noted on this chart and initialed by the pet nurse that performed the duty.  The baskets on cage fronts contain the medications for that animal.  All patients are bedded on towels or special foam mats for their comfort.

Surgical Suite

Just as in a human operating room, our patients are constantly monitored by a  pet nurse and electronic devices that measure pulse rate and Oxygen levels in the blood. These machines alarm if levels drop alerting the doctor to adjust anesthesia. Doctors and staff are scrubbed and use sterile techniques to maintain a germ free environment in the surgical field.  Note the masks, gowns, gloves, caps and surgical drape.

Wellness

Preventative medicine is a strong focus of Reidsville Veterinary Hospital.  Our doctors have carefully designed wellness plans including vaccinations, laboratory tests and physical examinations appropriate to your pet’s age. Semi- annual physical examinations are important as dogs and cats age much faster than humans.  These plans give us vital information on your pet’s all over health – often finding small problems that left unattended would become major issues or possibly life threatening diseases.
